Spotlight – Bryttnii Cariaso

Bryttnii finds importance in dance on campus through HUI, Sayaw, and PSA (through Poly Day). Her involvement with Hui reminds her of her childhood, as it was spent in Hawaii where she picked up hula dancing. Dancing with Hui reminds her of her history and love for her community and culture. Dancing with PSA allows Bryttnii to learn more about the sister islands. Meanwhile, the significance of Sayaw to Bryttnii is finding a way to her Filipino roots, as she is Filipino by blood but did not grow up with Filipino customs. FASA and Sayaw spurred Bryttnii’s growth as a leader in the dance community, as well as bringing meaning of her Filipino roots to her.
