Maria Fe Andrea “Eya” Manansala Lazaro

Academic Empowerment and Professional Development Lead

Hafa Adai, my name is Eya Lazaro, a junior at the University of Washington studying Early Childhood and Family Studies. I grew up in the Philippines until I moved to Saipan 10 years ago. This year, I serve as PISC’s Academic Empowerment and Professional Development Lead to support and increase the visibility of PI’s in academia. Outside of PISC, I work with Jumpstart, a national non-profit organization which aims to close the opportunity gap in Early Education. I serve as the Volunteer Coordinator where I partner with different non-profits around the greater Seattle area to create community service events and recruit volunteers for them. I am also this year’s recipient of the Ruby Linsao Early Learning Scholarship which enables me to plan projects that advocates for equitable education especially for underrepresented populations.
