Jade Lauw

Jade is one of the two Legislative Leads of PISC. She is a senior at the University of Washington, majoring in political science while minoring in anthropology, environmental science, and philosophy. In the university, Jade is also the Vice President of Beyond the Bomb, where she actively participates in the grassroots movement to condemn the use and proliferation of nuclear weapons. Her main focus is on the social, political, and environmental aspects of the 1946 – 1958 nuclear weapons testing in Micronesia. Jade is also a fellow for Our Climate, working on the “Put a Price on it” campaign to pass a carbon tax bill in Washington state. The revenue derived from the bill supports green-energy job transitions, environmental education, and indigenous people who are most affected by climate change.
